Mike enjoys helping businesses find creative solutions that improve their bottom line. With over 20 years of industry experience, he has helped some of the largest insurance, brokerage, reinsurance, and transportation providers in the world develop cost-efficient strategies that promote innovation and growth.
He has a broad range of insurance and risk management experience, including captives, corporate transactions, enforcement matters, corporate governance, licensing of insurers, insurance holding company act issues, independent contractor issues, financial and statutory examinations, claims handling & best practices, producer compensation, risk retention and risk purchasing groups, as well as day to day operational knowledge related to running several property & casualty insurance companies, an insurance brokerage company, and a captive insurance company. Mike also has transportation & logistics experience dealing with federal leasing requirements, regulatory and licensing compliance, DOT and Hazardous Materials Compliance and warehousing.
Mike is also the president of Transaction Expeditors (TE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Frost Brown Todd. TE is a technology company focused on turning risk into opportunity by providing affordable disruptive business solutions that increase efficiency & lower costs through the powerful combination of technology & expertise, including AI-driven software that empowers teams to redline contracts with speed and accuracy, end-to-end contract management, and multiple consulting services.
Prior to joining Frost Brown Todd, Mike served as chief operating officer, executive vice present of claims, general counsel & secretary at a publicly-traded holding company, and its wholly-owned U.S. property-casualty insurance subsidiaries and its independent brokerage company, conducting business in 50 states and all Canadian provinces. Earlier in his career, he served as in-house counsel for a publicly-traded auto finance company, served as a Deputy Attorney General, and practiced creditors rights law in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
