  • Frost Brown Todd Pittsburgh Office Continues Growth with Addition of Partner Janet McQuaid

Joins recent hires Sunny Yang and Tara Rice

Environmental attorney Janet McQuaid is Frost Brown Todd’s (FBT) newest Partner. She will sit in the firm’s Pittsburgh office and joins Partner Sunny Yang and Counsel Tara Rice who also recently came to the firm. Yang’s practice focuses on international business matters and trade, and Rice assists with energy businesses with various real estate needs and frequently litigates throughout Pennsylvania.

McQuaid advises clients on environmental law issues in many contexts, including transactions, enforcement, day-to-day compliance, and litigation. She has extensive experience in the energy and chemical industries, having spent more than a decade working as a chemical engineer at Exxon. In addition to private practice in Pittsburgh, she spent a significant part of her career in Texas as a partner with a global law firm and as an in-house with what is now Kinder Morgan.

“The experience Janet, Sunny and Tara bring Frost Brown Todd’s clients is significant,” said FBT Pittsburgh Partner-in-Charge Jordan Blask. “Not only with the quality services they provide but adding them better reflects the demographics of the businesses we serve. Our attorney roster now has an equal number of men and women. It is important here in Pittsburgh that our team provide clients a diverse perspective on the needs that impact their industries, and Janet, Sunny and Tara do just that.”

The office is connected to every major industry in the region, including finance, manufacturing, technology innovation, construction, and oil and gas, representing the largest exploration and production company working in the Utica Shale, as well as numerous other upstream and midstream companies across Appalachia.

It serves the wider community by joining and sponsoring the newly formed Pittsburgh Legal Diversity & Inclusion Coalition and volunteering for organizations such as the Side Project, Reading Is Fundamental, the Salvation Army, and the Junior League.
