Jake focuses his practice in the areas of real estate, commercial finance, and municipal law. Jake routinely assists developers, lenders, borrowers, purchasers, sellers, lessors, and lessees in various real estate transactions, including commercial lending, purchases and sales, option agreements, and commercial leasing. He also assists both energy companies and landowners in real estate transactions relating to renewable energy projects, including solar and wind farms. In addition to general real estate and commercial finance transactions, Jake assists developers with annexation and zoning matters.
Jake practices extensively in the area of municipal law, representing redevelopment commissions, planning and zoning boards, and sanitary sewer boards, among other municipal and public entities.
Prior to joining Frost Brown Todd, Jake served as Assistant Vice President and Senior Claims Counsel with an industry-leading title insurance underwriter. In that role, Jake managed title insurance claims processes for both property owners and residential and commercial lenders from coverage determinations through title defense and title curative litigation. Jake began his legal career in practice with a mid-sized law firm in Indiana, focusing on general liability defense litigation, business litigation, and real estate matters. Jake is a cum laude graduate of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he served as a Note Development Editor on the Indiana Law Review.
