  • Mitch McConnell Legal Counsel Daniel Cameron leaves Washington for CivicPoint and Frost Brown Todd, Louisville

Daniel Cameron, who has served as legal counsel to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell since March 2015, has been hired as a principal of CivicPoint, Frost Brown Todd’s (FBT) full-service public affairs subsidiary. He will also serve as a senior associate in FBT’s Litigation Department.

“Daniel’s unique skill set and experiences will be an invaluable addition across CivicPoint’s service platform, whether in Kentucky, Washington, or any of the five states we serve,” said Tom Lee, managing principal of CivicPoint. “We’re committed to building out the best government relations practice in Mid-America. On day one, Daniel Cameron brings us closer to that mark.”

In Washington, D.C., Cameron was responsible for compliance and procedures promulgated by the Senate Select Committee on Rules and Administration. He handled an extensive legislative portfolio, including matters pertaining to the federal judiciary, law enforcement and criminal justice, patent and trademark issues, as well as telecommunications and broadband access.

Prior to his appointment with Sen. McConnell, Cameron served in private law practice and as clerk to the Hon. Gregory F. Van Tatenhove at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. A native of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, he attended the University of Louisville, where he was a member of the football team and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in 2008. He earned his J.D. at the U of L Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 2011.
