Fisher et al. v. Elmo Greer and Sons

This case concerned the duties a road contractor owes to the traveling public while completing work on an interstate highway. Plaintiffs sustained severe physical injuries when the vehicle in which they were passengers was struck from behind by another motorist, leaving one of the Plaintiffs as a paraplegic. The Plaintiffsโ€™ vehicle had stopped due to congestion from road construction further ahead on the highway.  Plaintiffs alleged that the road contractor failed to use appropriate safety measures and signs to warn motorists of possible traffic stoppages.
