Office also adds three associates

Frost Brown Todd (FBT) welcomes Member Darren Skyles and Associates Lindsay Contreras, Avery Addison and Hannah Johannes to its Houston office. Opened in August, FBT Houston has now grown to 16 attorneys advising businesses in the areas of energy, health care innovation, financial services, manufacturing, mobility and transportation, and private equity.

Skyles is part of FBTโ€™s health care industry team. He previously served as the Vice President of Legal Affairs for the University of Texas Medical branch and has 16 years of health care regulatory experience. His work includes advising and assisting health care facilities and providers, including hospitals, physicians and other health care practitioners, on regulatory issues, compliance concerns, operational matters, corporate transactions, fraud and abuse, privacy and security, medical staff issues, governmental entity laws, and litigation.

โ€œWe launched our Houston office last summer with a foundation representing the future needs of Houstonโ€™s growing industries. Darrenโ€™s health care work along with the support from Lindsay, Avery and Hannah fit perfectly into that plan,โ€ said Houston Member-in-Charge Zenobia Bivens. โ€œTheir growing practices are rooted in the diverse and energetic Houston community. We look forward to the additional services they will allow us to provide to area businesses.โ€

Contreras graduated from the University of Houston Law Center. She is a litigation attorney with FBTโ€™s energy industry team and real estate practice group. Addison is a graduate of South Texas College of Law and focuses her practice on the oil and gas industry. Johannes is a Texas Southern Thurgood Marshall School of Law graduate and works with the firmโ€™s health care and venture capital teams.
