Four Attorneys Named to World Trademark Review 1000

Four Frost Brown Todd (FBT) attorneys and the firm’s Ohio and Indiana practices were named to the 2022 edition of the World Trademark Review 1000 (WTR 1000). The annual report highlights attorneys worldwide with deep expertise in trademark law. Indianapolis Member Eric Lamb, Indianapolis Managing Associate Matthew Clark, Cincinnati Member Matthew Delaney, and Columbus Member Samantha (Sam) Quimby, who leads FBT’s Trademark practice, qualified for the list based on recommendations from market sources familiar with their work as well as lengthy interviews with attorneys and clients involved with trademarks. This is the 8th year FBT has been included in the WTR 1000.

While the WTR 1000 organizes its rankings of firms and individuals by state, FBT’s trademark group works as a team across FBT’s footprint, regardless of state. Overall, the WTR 1000 generally noted FBT’s trademark group as providing a “reassuringly comprehensive trademark offering which transcends industry and geographical boundaries” as well being a “highly specialized IP group whose members provide total support across the trademark lifecycle.”

In the state rankings, the firm’s Indiana group ranked in the Gold banded group, distinguishing it as one of the preeminent trademark teams in the region. For Ohio, FBT ranked in the Silver banded group, distinguishing it as providing the most sophisticated level of work with the highest reputation among clients and fellow attorneys.

In the individual rankings, Lamb was again included in the Gold band for Indiana due to his well-rounded practice with loyal clients who noted his ability to anticipate potential problems and provide options and recommendations in a simplified matter. Clients said these attributes give them the confidence they are receiving the best advice possible. The WTR 1000 further noted Lamb as the embodiment of FBT’s comprehensive trademark offerings. Clark was again included in the Silver band for Indiana, which recognizes distinguished practices and attorneys who perform high-end work. Clark is known for representing top names in the entertainment industry before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. His clients say his ability to communicate clearly and effectively about what to expect shows his dedication to the highest professional standards.

Quimby, who ranked in the Gold band for individuals for the eighth consecutive year, is considered “one of the most knowledgeable and experienced trademark attorneys in the country” by her clients. She stands out for the ability to protect her client’s brands from infringement without litigation and is noted as a “fair, objective and reliable counsel.” Delaney, taking home a bronze ranking, is known for his intuitive understanding of the needs of emerging companies, with clients noting his experience as a software engineer and strong foundation in patent and trademark law fundamentals.
