  • Frost Brown Todd Partners with OneTrust to Power Clients with Global Privacy Management Tools

OneTrust’s tools allow Frost Brown Todd to help its clients manage the full privacy life cycle, assess its clients’ risks and provide a road map to compliance

Frost Brown Todd (FBT) now offers clients additional ways to ensure their privacy compliance thanks to a new partnership with OneTrust, the largest and most widely used dedicated privacy management platform. FBT’s privacy and data security team, already known for its vast knowledge of privacy laws and for assisting clients with formulating and implementing privacy policies and practices, can now provide further value to its clients through this partnership with OneTrust.

“Compliance with new global privacy laws and frameworks, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) should be top of mind for impacted businesses,” said FBT Privacy and Data Security Practice Group Co-Chair Victoria Beckman. “Daily we help companies navigate this evolving privacy landscape. We believe this partnership with OneTrust enhances the services we provide to our clients.”

FBT’s relationship with OneTrust will enable FBT attorneys to access OneTrust’s Privacy Program Management; Marketing and User Experience; Vendor Risk Management; and Incident and Breach Response modules on behalf of their clients. These modules include assessment automation, maturity and benchmarking, data mapping, cookie consent, consent, data subject requests, incident intake, notification and reporting, and vendor risk lifecycle management.

“Given the approaching CCPA effective date, we are particularly excited about the opportunity to use OneTrust’s Readiness & Accountability Tool,” said FBT Privacy and Data Security Practice Group Co-Chair Melissa Kern. “With OneTrust’s assessments, we can evaluate our clients’ readiness to comply with various global privacy laws and frameworks. Clients who work with FBT to complete a readiness assessment on a law like CCPA using the OneTrust tool will gain an understanding of whether their current privacy program can respond to the law’s requirements as well as identify areas where changes are needed, providing a path to compliance. Moreover, OneTrust’s knowledge base is deep—spanning global privacy laws as well as technical standards like the National Institute of Standards and Tec NIST.”

“We’re excited to work with the qualified attorneys at FBT and provide their clients with the global leader in privacy management technology to address challenges, mitigate risks and set the path for compliance,” said OneTrust VP Sales & Business Development Kevin Kiley. “The proactive approach FBT takes assessing client risk and developing compliance solutions for clients based on their broad domestic and international legal experience makes them a great partner for OneTrust. Together we are able to empower businesses across the globe implement privacy programs that stay up to date with the world’s changing regulatory environment.”
