Associates from seven offices in six states promoted

Frost Brown Todd (FBT) has promoted nine attorneys to partner. This diverse group of attorneys work in seven of the firmโ€™s 16 markets. These include offices in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Texas and West Virginia. Their practices range from business combinations and capital transactions, public finance and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), to intellectual property, tort and product liability litigation, and business litigation, among others. The promotions took effect on April 1.

FBTโ€™s newest partner promotions are as follows:

Michael Brewster is a Pittsburgh-based attorney with FBTโ€™s business combinations and capital transactions practice. He has extensive experience representing companies across a broad range of industries in corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, purchase and sale agreements, financing transactions, joint ventures, and advising on contracts and day-to-day operations.

Josh D. Brock is an attorney in FBTโ€™s Louisville office with a real estate, finance and CMBS practice. He advises institutional lenders, borrowers, owners and developers nationwide in structuring complex real estate transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine loan originations, purchase and sale transactions, financing of commercial properties across all major asset types, hotel operations, and sale-leaseback transactions.

Jason T. Jonovski is a Cincinnati-based attorney with FBTโ€™s intellectual property practice. He draws on his background in mechanical engineering to prepare and prosecute U.S., international, and foreign patent applications covering a variety of technologies. He also performs patentability, freedom-to-practice, and patent infringement investigations and advises on transactions involving his clientsโ€™ IP assets and portfolios.

Stephanie V. McGowan is an attorney in FBTโ€™s Indianapolis office where she focuses her practice on tort and product liability litigation, including wrongful death, major injury, constitutional torts, and complex tort claims. She also handles municipal, employment, and education litigation and has experience representing clients in all stages of the litigation process, from pre-litigation through appeal.

Alan Morgan is a CMBS and real estate attorney in FBTโ€™s Columbus office. He represents institutional lenders in complex real estate transactions nationwide, including construction, mezzanine and variable rate loans for acquiring or refinancing hotel, office, shopping center, multi-family, industrial and self-storage properties, among others.

Donald L. Warner is a Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky-based public finance and economic development attorney with experience serving as special counsel, bond counsel and issuerโ€™s counsel to cities, counties, states and special purpose governmental entities in conjunction with the structuring, negotiation and financing of many of the regionโ€™s most transformative redevelopment and infrastructure projects, including stadium developments, riverfront developments, adaptive reuse projects, and large-scale transportation infrastructure projects. Donnie has also served as counsel to developers, non-profits, lenders and local governments on projects utilizing low-income housing tax credits, new markets tax credits, qualified opportunity zone investments and other innovative funding sources.

Ben A. West is a business litigation and appellate attorney based in Dallas whose practice focuses on aviation, transportation, and general and complex commercial litigation, as well as state and federal appeals. He has represented international airlines, national shipping companies, and businesses from a variety of other industries in connection with both transactional and litigation matters, from pre-suit negotiation through trial and the appeals process.

Emily E. Ziegler is a commercial finance attorney in FBTโ€™s Louisville office. She has extensive real estate and tax experience involving the financing of multifamily, commercial and mixed-use properties nationwide. She advises investors and developers on structuring complex commercial real estate transactions, particularly in the areas of affordable housing, historic preservation credits, and opportunity zone investments.

Alex J. Zurbuch is a commercial litigator in the firmโ€™s Charleston, West Virginia office. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on the defense of financial institutions. As a commercial litigator, Alex has developed expertise in class action and mass action proceedings, as well as appellate work.
