  • Frost Brown Todd Celebrates 30 Years in Columbus with Amplified Commitment to Local Charities

Frost Brown Todd, a law firm dating back more than 100 years, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in the Columbus market.

“We have many to thank for their generosity and contributions to our growth and success here in Columbus,” says office Member-in-Charge Noel Shepard. “Individually and collectively as a firm, we serve many civic organizations that improve the lives of everyone in our community, and to commemorate our special milestone in 2018, we’re pledging to do even more for the city that has been so good to us.”

Shepard and her team of more than 70 legal and business professionals serve a myriad of community organizations, from animal shelters and museums to organizations like the United Way, the Legal Aid Society, the Buckeye Ranch and the Columbus Zoo. At the top of a long list of initiatives in 2018 is the firm’s focus on making a mark in the fight against hunger. Several members volunteer for the Children’s Hunger Alliance, which partners with day care centers, local schools and other organizations to provide nutritious meals to at-risk children, and FBT legal assistant Kathleen Fleming oversees the office’s involvement with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. She organizes both monetary donations as well as opportunities for the team to volunteer in the food storage warehouse.

With no lack of worthy causes, the team aims to make a difference on a large scale through long-established and well-known organizations like the American Red Cross, where Member Kevin Shook serves on the board and spearheads the firm’s annual sponsorship of the “Humanitarian of the Year” event, but also sees opportunities to impact individuals in a more personal and close-up way.

“We have established a trainee and mentoring program for students from Cristo Rey Columbus High School,” says Shepard. “Two students spend two or three days a week with us in the office from August until June, training in different areas and gaining valuable work experience.”

The firm will hold a reception for clients and friends in its downtown Columbus office on May 17.
