Frost Brown Todd AlvaradoSmith (FBTAS) Senior Associate Nitya Ram was named to Super Lawyers’ 2023 edition of Southern California Rising Stars®, which recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the region. Based in FBTAS’s Orange County office, Ram was recognized in the eminent domain practice area.

Ram helps her clients minimize the risk and maximize the value of their businesses as she guides them through the legal issues involved in commercial transactions and real estate matters. Over the last five years, Ram has developed significant experience in multi-jurisdictional transactions and managing complex portfolios for business and real estate matters. She served as lead outside counsel to the U.S. subsidiary of global Fortune 5 energy sector company, where she identified issues and inconsistencies across markets and lead legal efforts on the client’s contract automation process to drive scalability and growth. She recently represented this client in the sale of a $1.2 billion California refinery to achieve a successful on-time closing in support of its divestment strategy. Ram has also handled a docket of multiple eminent domain cases, representing quasi-public entities in all stages of their development and improvement of public utility projects.

A graduate of the University of California Irvine School of Law, Ram earned her undergraduate degree from New York University. She is one of only 2.5% of attorneys in Southern California named to this year’s “Rising Stars” list. Attorneys are selected from more than 70 practice areas by independent research, peer nominations, and evaluations.
