Ray serves as the Director of Practice Services for all litigation practice areas across the firm’s footprint. He draws upon his extensive background in law, business, administration, and technology to guide the strategic efforts and daily operations.
Ray has over 25 years of combined business leadership and legal experience in professional service industries, including nearly 15 years in practice operations and management. He works closely with the litigation department chairperson, practice group leaders, attorneys, administrators, senior leadership and business professionals in areas including strategic planning, budgeting, financial analysis, resource planning and management, and practice performance improvement. Ray’s focus is to enhance practice services, practice economics, and client experiences. He is a former member of the firm’s Finance and Wellness Committee.
Before joining FBT, Ray served in various leadership roles including Vice President of Business Administration for an engineering firm, where he served on the Executive Committee and managed business and operational functions including finance and accounting, IT, human resources, planning, and business analytics. Ray also has experience as a practicing lawyer. He has served as General Counsel for a regional technology firm in southwestern Ohio. He has also practiced in a regional law firm where he focused on construction and engineering disputes, and he managed his own private practice primarily representing small businesses and professional service firms.
