In her employee benefits practice, Megan guides employers through complex regulatory landscapes, ensuring compliance with the Internal Revenue Code, HIPAA, COBRA, and the Affordable Care Act, among others. Megan has been involved in several annuity transactions, advising plan sponsors and fiduciaries on lift-out strategies and plan terminations. Her work supports clients in managing pension liabilities while maintaining regulatory compliance.
On the federal tax planning side, Megan supports clients in navigating tax considerations for business formations and reorganizations. She assists with entity selection and structuring, for partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations. Megan also provides guidance on tax benefits under Section 1202 for qualifying small businesses, helping clients maximize potential gains. Additionally, she drafts operating and shareholder agreements, ensuring businesses are set up efficiently from both a legal and tax standpoint.
