James represents a wide range of large and small employers in manufacturing and service related industries. His practice focuses on working with employers to develop and implement policies and procedures which prevent employment practices liabilities (including wage and hour matters, discrimination, wrongful discharge and sexual harassment), and defending employers faced with employment practices lawsuits.
James also advises non-unionized employers in their efforts to remain “union free” and win union election campaigns. He represents employers in unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and assists unionized employers in collective bargaining, the administration of their collective bargaining agreements, mediation and arbitration of grievances and maintaining effective and efficient relationships with unionized workforces. Matthew O. Wagner
Matt helps businesses solve people problems, with a special emphasis on international personnel issues. As an employment counselor, Matt guides his clients through employment law compliance issues, including hiring and firing, employment policies, wage and hour compliance, and I-9 employment authorization compliance. He has spent considerable time counseling clients with respect to legal questions unique to transgender employees, and other cutting-edge legal issues. As a member of FBT’s International Services Group, Matt counsels clients on legal problems that arise when companies—and their people—cross international borders.
