In early 2008, Amanda Hodge sued her employer, Curbside Enterprises, alleging that Curbside discriminated against her because of her disability by disciplining her, demoting her, and paying her less wages than her non-disabled co-workers. Hodge also alleged that Curbside demoted her in retaliation for complaining about her unequal wages. Finally, Hodge claimed her manager subjected her to a prohibited medical inquiry by asking her to see a prescription for a pill found on company property.
