Matt focuses his practice on intellectual property law, particularly in the area of patent preparation and prosecution. Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Matt has experience in providing counsel regarding prosecution strategy, assisting in the management of patent portfolios for various clients, and prosecuting U.S. and foreign national patent applications in a broad range of technologies, and primarily in the chemical and mechanical arts.
Provides counsel regarding patent prosecution strategy and helps to manage patent portfolios for various clients.
Prosecutes patent applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and works with a network of associates to prosecute foreign national patent applications.
Drafts and coordinates filing of utility and design patent applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as Patent Cooperation Treaty and national stage applications, for several clients, some of which have included leading companies in the cable, lawn and garden, consumer products, laminate, agricultural machinery, and automotive industries, among others.
Prepares strategy for and drafts petitions for inter partes review and facilitates the preparation of expert declarations relating to the same.
Assists with various aspects of patent litigation, including the preparation of invalidity contentions, expert reports, and strategy for non-infringement positions.
