Biography

Connie advises clients on a variety of matters, including risk mitigation and compliance strategies, information management, and data privacy and retention. Her practice focuses on navigating complex cybersecurity, privacy, and eDiscovery matters and counseling clients in the areas of preparedness, management, response, and other information governance issues. Connie leverages technical expertise and litigation experience to craft creative, defensible, and efficient strategies for the preservation, collection, review, and production of electronically stored information, and utilizes the most current technology to control the scope of discovery and implement cost-shifting and cost-reduction strategies. In addition to litigation response, she counsel’s clients on information governance issues including cybersecurity, privacy, and eDiscovery policy and process development, data remediation initiatives, and records and information management.

Connie’s expertise also includes assisting clients through various cybersecurity, privacy, eDiscovery and information governance challenges spanning multiple jurisdictions and business lines and in litigation including Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), fraud, antitrust, breach of contract, securities, internal investigations, labor and employment class actions, CFPB investigation/litigation, FTC investigation/litigation, and misappropriation, among others. Over the past ten years, she has regularly assisted clients with formulating and implementing privacy policies and practices, including those required by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, USA Patriot Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and the FTC’s Identity Theft Red Flag Rules. She has also assisted clients with safeguarding customer and employee data as well as a business’s trade secrets and operations, incident response, breach notification, and remediation.
