Alex is an experienced intellectual property attorney with a focus on patents and trademarks. He supports U.S. and foreign-based clients in protecting critical IP and developing strategies to maximize and leverage the value of IP assets. Alex has experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of fields, with a focus on chemical, mechanical, and electrical inventions. He has more than 10 years’ experience undertaking and preparing patent searches, trademark searches, invalidity reports, patentability reports, validity reports, and infringement opinions while drafting and prosecuting numerous patent and trademark applications. As a part of his previous experience, Alex also has experience working alongside technology transfer offices at various universities in the United States and abroad in order to commercialize inventions born out of work done at those universities.
Alex brings a knowledgeable and innovative approach to the growth of his client’s IP portfolio. Regardless of whether the client is a first-time inventor or an established company, Alex utilizes his skill and understanding of the ever-changing field of intellectual property to reach and exceed his client’s goals. Alex is a member of the Ohio Bar Association and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Conducts IP due diligence such as patent searches, trademark searches, patent invalidity opinions; Freedom to Operate opinions; and non-infringement opinions.
Assists clients with patent and trademark preparation and Prosecution with the USPTO and foreign patent offices.
Assist clients in initiating their global and/or domestic business and Intellectual Property strategy.
Advises on a range of corporate transactional matters including corporate formation, entity structure, and governance.
Conducts legal research and drafts memoranda analyzing a broad range of complex legal issues.
