Labor and Employment attorney Fred Gaona is now a Member of Frost Brown Todd’s (FBT) Dallas office. Clients rely on Gaona advice and counsel on matters ranging from wrongful termination suits, family leave issues, employee benefits and health and safety matters. In addition to handling arbitration related to collective bargaining agreements, Gaona has successfully defended an employer before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in an employment discrimination case. He also trains executives and managers on labor and employment law compliance issues. His industry focus includes transportation, energy, retail and construction. Gaona previously served as a director and senior attorney for American Airlines and most recently litigation counsel at Gray Reed.
The Texas Minority Counsel Program named Gaona “Trailblazer Outside Counsel of the Year” in 2016. Gaona was also named a Super Lawyer and Rising Star by Texas Monthly Magazine. He is passionate about diversity issues and has held leadership positions with the Dallas Hispanic Law Foundation, Texas Minority Counsel Program, Dallas Hispanic Bar Association and Hispanic Issues Section of the State Bar of Texas. He is certified in alternative dispute resolution. Gaona earned the CALI award for mediation practicum course before graduating from the Ohio State University Mortiz College of Law.
