Frost Brown Todd (FBT) has appointed Brian S. Masterson the Partner-in-Charge of its Nashville office. Masterson replaces Mekesha Montgomery, who has stepped into the role of FBT’s Labor & Employment Practice Group Leader.
Masterson, a tax and transactional attorney, focuses his practice on tax planning and controversies, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. Leveraging his background as a former practicing CPA and accounting professor, he advises clients through financial and tax due diligence pre-closing and the post-closing adjustment process. His clients include closely-held companies, family offices, commercial and residential real estate developers, and early-stage venture companies. With nearly 25 years of extensive tax experience, Masterson brings a wealth of knowledge to this leadership role, reinforcing FBT’s commitment to providing exceptional legal services to its clients.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law, Masterson earned an LLM in Tax from Georgetown University Law Center. He is admitted to practice law in Tennessee, Washington D.C., and Virginia, and is a Certified Public Accountant (Tennessee).
