For a third consecutive year, Frost Brown Todd (FBT) has received a perfect score of 100 percent on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to workplace equality. The firm is among 517 major U.S. businesses that earned top marks in the 2017 survey, publicly released today.
“We are very proud to have achieved 100 percent on the scorecard again this year,” says Kim Amrine, FBT’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion. “This distinction is the result of continued and dedicated collaboration among firm leadership, the Diversity and Inclusion team, our HR and benefits professionals, and our employees.”
The CEI report evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement. FBT’s efforts in satisfying the criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.” In addition to established policies and programs, the firm introduced an internal Inclusion Workshop titled “Creating Safe & Supported Spaces for LGBTQ+ Youth and Coworkers” in 2016 to help employees navigate the unfamiliar territory that often surrounds issues of gender and sexual identity. The firm also hosted several unique receptions to bring together LGBTQ+ law students and practicing lawyers, assisting them in forming meaningful mentoring relationships.
CEI rated more than 1,000 businesses in the 2017 report. For more information and to download a free copy of the full report, visit www.hrc.org/cei.
