William O. Williams II, who served most recently as deputy general counsel of UnitedHealthcare, has joined Frost Brown Todd (FBT) in Indianapolis. Williams joins as a member of the firm’s Regulated Business Practice Group, where he will focus on serving clients in the insurance industry.

During his tenure at UnitedHealthcare, one of the nation’s largest health insurance companies, Williams was responsible for administrative, legislative and regulatory legal support of the commercial health insurance business, as well as the Medicare and Medicaid businesses. He brings more than 22 years of experience representing numerous licensed life and health insurance and risk-bearing entities in administrative and regulatory matters before state and federal insurance and health agencies.
Williams is a member of the American Health Lawyers’ Association (AHLA) and the Federation of Regulatory Counsel (FORC). He has presented at several Continuing Legal Education (CLE) events held by various organizations, including local and national bar associations, most recently with a focus on the Affordable Care Act and its impact on insurers and their customers.
Williams earned his J.D. at the University of Dayton School of Law in 1992 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Purdue University in 1986. He currently serves on the Indiana Repertory Theatre board of directors, the Midwest Academy of Indiana board of trustees, and on the board of directors for the Housing Corporation of the Lambda Iota Chapter of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta at Purdue University.
