AlvaradoSmith is honored to share that Emily Ramos of Tustin, CA has been named the 2021 Raymond G. Alvarado Scholarship recipient.
Given the number of talented and leadership-focused students who applied this year, the selection process was difficult. However, Emily’s drive, tenacity, and demonstrated leadership shone through, making her this year’s recipient.
Emily exemplifies many of AlvaradoSmith’s values through her demonstrated commitment to civic leadership. She volunteered in various organizations as a high school student at Foothill High School, including Operation Warm Wishes, helping families in need with local service projects for underprivileged families, and as an elementary school tutor.
Today, Emily is a freshman at the University of Florida in Tampa, where she is pursuing a B.A. in Criminal Justice. Everyone at AlvaradoSmith is excited to support and advocate for Emily as she continues her education and career.
The Raymond G. Alvarado scholarship, a sub-fund of the Hispanic Education Endowment Fund (HEEF), helps students afford law school, promote diversity within the legal profession, and plant seeds for future Latino attorneys, professors, and judges.
As founding member AlvaradoSmith continues to support HEEF’s goal is to enhance educational opportunities and to improve students’ educational expectations. The fund is a resource to academically talented Hispanic/Latino youth who need to overcome financial barriers to complete a college degree.
Applications are now being accepted through the end of December. For more information on how to apply and to see all the scholarships offered by the Hispanic Education Endowment Fund, click the link below.
