Jason assists clients of all sizes on implementing intellectual property strategies that align with their business goals. Having a background in mechanical engineering, he prepares and prosecutes US and international patent applications on mechanical and related technologies pertaining to various industries including medical devices, drone aircraft, power tool accessories, and sporting equipment, for example. He also leads a team of FBT attorneys in preparing and prosecuting patent applications for clients on these and other technologies.
Beyond preparation and prosecution of patent applications, Jason provides clients with valuable insights in the US patent space as it pertains to their own business and that of their competitors through patentability, freedom-to-practice, and patent infringement investigations. He also counsels clients on transactional matters involving intellectual property assets.
Jason draws upon engineering experience in technologies including medical devices, industrial robotics, and turbine engines. During engineering school, Jason served internships with Ethicon and GE Aviation in Cincinnati, Ohio, in which capacities he assisted on designing test instrumentation for surgical stapling devices and aircraft turbofan engines.
