Justin focuses his practice on federal and state tax controversy, including tax notices, tax audits, administrative appeals, and tax court litigation. In addition to being a lawyer, Justin is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Immediately prior to coming to Frost Brown Todd, Justin worked as a corporate transactions lawyer. In that role, he represented business owners and individuals in a variety of matters, including entity formation, drafting of corporate governance documents, contract analysis, the sale of businesses, executive compensation, and tax.
Before working as a corporate transactions lawyer, Justin spent three years in the Large Business & International Division of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where he audited large publicly held and privately held C-corporations, S-corporations, and Partnerships as an IRS Agent. During his time at the IRS, Justin was selected for a first-of-its-kind detail in the Office of Chief Counsel, Area 3, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he worked on several docketed tax court cases. Justin was also the recipient of the agency’s performance award three times.
