Biography

Dean focuses his practice on insurance coverage, environmental, construction, consumer law, and business matters.

Dean has represented insurance companies in numerous coverage disputes, including both complex environmental cases, as well as defense of bad faith claims. His environmental practice also includes extensive experience defending clients against claims in relation to contaminated sites.

Dean’s construction law practice has included representation of architects, engineers, contractors and sureties. In addition, he has extensive experience in the defense of businesses and individuals against claims by consumers, including claims under the FDCPA, the FCRA, the TCPA and various state consumer statutes.

Dean routinely defends businesses in state and federal court. Dean has defended clients in more than 30 class action cases.

St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center
Dean chairs the Endowment Committee and the Fund Development Committee of the St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, which provides high quality pre-school education for children ages 3-5 who are at learning and life risk. Dean is also a member of St. Mary’s Finance Committee (2009-present) and its Executive Committee (2009-present). Dean is a past president of the St. Mary’s Board of Directors.
