Andrew focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury defense, fire litigation, premises liability defense, class actions, commercial litigation, insurance coverage and admiralty law. He has experience at all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation investigation and dispute resolution, pretrial discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal. Andrew has experience in both civil jury trials and bench trials, and devotes a substantial amount of his time to defending insurers and self-insured entities.
Andrew currently represents numerous national insurers, trucking companies, gas and electric utilities, product manufacturers, national restaurants, and other local, regional, and national companies.
Andrew earned his undergraduate degree from Centre College and graduated summa cum laude and first in his class from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. While at the University of Louisville, he was the Managing Editor of the University of Louisville Law Review and was inducted into the Brandeis Honor Society. Additionally, Andrew was awarded the Harry B. O’Donnell III Memorial Scholarship for Academic Achievement, the Professional Responsibility award, and the Kentucky Defense Counsel award for Tort Law.
Christy Burton v. Speedway, LLC, Jessamine Circuit Court, Kentucky (Sept 2019) – Served as lead trial counsel and obtained a defense verdict in favor of convenience store on premises liability claims.
Casey v. Texas Roadhouse (October 2016) – Served as lead trial counsel and obtained a defense verdict in premises liability case in eastern Kentucky involving plaintiff claiming over $1 million in damages for head injury and multiple surgeries.
Colyer v. Speedway, 2013 WL 5966121 (E.D. Ky. Nov. 8, 2013), Eastern District of Kentucky, London, Kentucky – Obtained summary judgment in favor of convenience food store on personal injury claims where plaintiff sought significant damages.
Estate of Tony Gray v. Brook Ledge, Inc., Fayette Circuit Court, Lexington, Kentucky – Conducted a rapid response scene investigation on the day of a fatal motorcycle v. truck incident and later obtained a complete dismissal of the wrongful death lawsuit filed against the trucking company.
Wallace Wales v. Louisville Gas and Electric Company, et al., Jefferson Circuit Court, Louisville, Kentucky – Gained summary judgment in favor of a gas and electric utility on personal injury claims in a motorcycle case seeking more than $4 million in compensatory and punitive damages.
Envirometric Process Controls, Inc. v. Adman Electric, Inc., United States District Court, Western District of Kentucky – Won a Motion to Dismiss on behalf of an electrical contractor after it was sued for breach of contract damages.
Jetway Carrier, Inc. v. C.H. Robinson, Inc., Jefferson Circuit Court, Louisville, Kentucky – Obtained summary judgment in favor of freight brokerage company sued by freight carrier alleging breach of contract.
Mark Zeeks v. Speedway, LLC, Kenton Circuit Court, Covington, Kentucky – Served as lead trial counsel and obtained a favorable verdict in favor of convenience store on premises liability claims.
Darren Brasher v. Speedway, LLC, Jefferson Circuit Court, Louisville, Kentucky – Served as trial counsel and obtained a defense verdict on premises liability claims in favor of the convenience store owner.
Estate of Matthew Lane, et al. v. W.A.
