Adds extensive appellate experience to growing firm’s litigation team
Frost Brown Todd LLC (FBT) welcomes Thomas Allen as the newest Member of its Dallas office. Allen, who brings more than 19 years of experience in complex civil and appellate litigation, represents the latest step in FBT’s rapid growth in the Dallas market.
Allen has presented numerous oral arguments to federal and state appellate courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Texas Supreme Court. Notable examples include Family Rehabilitation v. Azar, a Medicare case in the Fifth Circuit, and Italian Cowboy Partners v. Prudential Insurance Co. in the Texas Supreme Court, which clarified an important area of Texas contract law. Allen represents clients across multiple industries, with a recent focus on transportation and healthcare.
“Growing our litigation team is a key focus of our Dallas office and the appellate skillset and experience Thomas brings is a critical part of that,” said Dallas Member-in-Charge Dan Novakov. “Thomas’ litigation practice has achieved groundbreaking results at the region’s highest courts. He also provides a broad range of counsel outside litigation, including strategy and compliance. We are extremely pleased to have his exceptional talents on the FBT team.”
Allen is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Yale University, and a former partner at Jones Day. In 2017, he received an “Impact Award” from the Poverty Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. Allen also serves on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Zoo.
Since the beginning of 2019, FBT has added 13 new attorneys in Dallas, with practices ranging from litigation, franchise, and real estate to finance, blockchain, and bankruptcy.
