AlvaradoSmith Equity Shareholder, Jerry J. Ruiz, was featured in the June issue of Actitud Magazine published in Mazatlán, Mexico.
Jerry’s work as co-founder and Director of Administration of the Academy of Special Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit all-volunteer organization whose mission is to raise public awareness of the creative talents of people with disabilities, is gaining international attention as its exhibition “Uniting Borders” opens at the Mazatlán Art Museum.
In the article, Jerry discusses inclusiveness in the arts and his work as Director of Administration of the Academy of Special Dreams Foundation.
“I feel fortunate to be a shareholder of a law firm where one of the co-founders (en paz descanse) was an artist himself, although partially blind in one eye, so that the walls of my office are adorned with original works of his Art.”
“I try every day to educate our society that everyone, regardless of abilities, can and should have the right to express their creativity through Art…to encourage those persons with special needs to express themselves through Art, to recognize persons with special needs as true Artists, and to promote their original works of Art virtually online though our internet website and by physical exhibitions of these original works of Art in our gallery spaces not only here in Southern California but also internationally, including Mazatlán.”
Jerry has a broad and varied practice helping his clients manage their real estate needs. From commercial leasing agreements to purchases and sales to property management arrangements, he has led hundreds of transactions on behalf of his financial institution and corporate clients, first as an in-house lawyer at one of the world’s largest retail banks, then at AlvaradoSmith.
