Frost Brown Todd’s Derrick Maultsby Jr. has been named to Pittsburgh Magazine’s 2025 “40 Under 40” class. The annual program honors emerging leaders who are achieving professional success while making meaningful contributions to the Pittsburgh region through leadership and service.
All nominations go through a pre-screening process before being reviewed by a 20-member independent judging panel, which includes business and community leaders, past 40 Under 40 honorees, and Pittsburgh Magazine staff. Judges evaluated nominees based on professional accomplishments, demonstrated leadership, and community impact.
Maultsby advises startups, mid-sized companies, and Fortune 50 businesses across sectors including technology, real estate development, commercial retail, restaurants, private equity, venture capital, nonprofits, and sports and entertainment. He is also a frequent speaker on topics at the intersection of law and technology and is known for his relationship-focused, trust-driven approach to client service.
Beyond his practice, Maultsby actively mentors students and emerging professionals, supporting scholarship programs at his alma maters—Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Duquesne University—as well as a grant program at Robert Morris University. He serves on five boards of community-impact organizations and volunteers across the region. He encourages others to “start small” when giving back, emphasizing that meaningful change can begin by positively affecting one person’s life.
