February 20, 2019 (Dallas, TX) – Frost Brown Todd’s expansion in Dallas continued this week with the addition of five lawyers from the law firm Rose Walker. The group is led by preeminent Dallas-based trial lawyer Martin Rose, who co-founded Rose Walker in 1999 and grew it into a formidable firm of national trial attorneys. Rose joins Frost Brown Todd (FBT) as a member.
Also joining FBT as members from Rose Walker are Bryan Rose and Holly Clarke. Bryan Rose brings a wealth of national litigation and trial experience. Clarke is a business lawyer who focuses on negotiating large government contracts. Litigators Faith Eaton and Ben West join FBT as associates.
FBT Dallas has added eight lawyers since December 2018.
Carlos White, a “go-to” franchise lawyer whose experience extends to advising clients on corporate and licensing matters, joined FBT Dallas as a member in December.
Seasoned bankruptcy and restructuring attorney Mark Platt and experienced commercial trial lawyer Todd Harlow joined as members in January. Platt, who began his career as a prosecutor for Dallas County, has over 20 years of bankruptcy and complex commercial litigation experience at several national firms, including Norton Rose Fulbright and Fox Rothschild. Harlow brings a diverse trial practice developed over a career that began at Baker Botts and included several years at litigation boutiques Lynn Tillotson Pinker & Cox and Cowles and Thompson.
“The Dallas market continues to boom, and we are most pleased that our strong firmwide platform has helped us attract some of the top legal talent in a city with an especially competitive environment,” said FBT Dallas Member-in-Charge Dan Novakov. “We are in growth mode and we have a lot to offer to the Texas market. It is an exciting opportunity for us.”
In 2015 Novakov, an accomplished tax practitioner launched FBT’s Dallas office along with corporate lawyer Eddy Moore. Both are long-time, prominent members of the Dallas legal, business, and philanthropic communities. They have grown the office to 18 lawyers providing a full range of business and litigation services to a growing client base in Texas and beyond.
FBT is an AmLaw 200 super-regional firm with a focus on serving clients in the energy, financial services, healthcare, mobility and transportation, and manufacturing industries.
“We are committed to strong growth across our entire footprint and we know that Dallas is a key market for us,” said FBT Chairman Robert Sartin. “We have the stability of a large, established law firm, but we have a very entrepreneurial approach in how we serve our clients. It is all about what our clients need, and our lawyers have the flexibility to be as creative as they can in achieving the best solutions for our clients.”
Martin Rose agreed. “We started Rose Walker because, frankly, we didn’t like where ‘Big Law’ was heading. In our discussions with FBT, though, we were really attracted to the entrepreneurial spirit of the firm. We are confident that we can now offer our clients a broader range of services with the same level of highly tailored representation they are accustomed to receiving from our boutique firm.”
In conjunction with the group’s move to FBT, Rose Walker will be winding down that firm’s operations. “We are only looking forward and we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about joining FBT,” Rose said.
