Kentucky and Tennessee practices included in inaugural state rankings
Frost Brown Todd’s (FBT) top-ranked trademark practice continues to gain recognition as the World Trademark Review (WTR) includes eight attorneys from four states and five offices to the WTR 1000 for 2023. The listing describes FBT’s trademark work as having a strong regional presence due to the firm’s leading IP minds in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. This is the 9th year FBT has been included in the WTR 1000. As a firm, FBT’s Indiana practice is ranked as Gold Band, Silver Band in Ohio and Recommended in Tennessee and Kentucky.
Individual Gold Band rankings include Columbus Partner Samantha (Sam) Quimby, who leads the firm’s trademark group, and Indianapolis Partner Eric Lamb. Quimby is described as a rigorous, well-rounded, and “an undoubted expert in her field.” Lamb’s reviewers state he is an extremely conscientious, well-informed, and invaluable partner.
In the Silver Band, Indianapolis Partner Matthew Schantz is listed as having an excellent international network that he uses to help clients obtain trademarks outside the U.S., and Indianapolis Partner Matthew Clark has “a tremendous ability to execute strategic brand registration and management plans internationally.”
The Bronze Band lists Columbus Partner Kevin Shook and Cincinnati Partner Matthew Delaney. Shook is included for his work litigation trademark and intellectual property cases with confidence. Delaney is described as being adept at technology, patent and brand law.
Nashville Partner Carl Eppler and Louisville Partner Cindy Stewart earned a Recommended ranking, the only rankings offered to Kentucky and Tennessee practices that are included on the list for the first time. Eppler is recognized as excelling at his trademark and copyright counsel with emerging industries including technology. The rankings acknowledge Stewart’s 30 years of work managing international portfolios and resolving disputes domestically and abroad.
