Biography

Walt is a member of the firm’s litigation practice and has a diverse background in civil litigation.  His practice involves general trial litigation and appellate practice with an emphasis on medical malpractice, product liability and bad faith litigation.  He has handled many trials in state and federal court and presented numerous appellate arguments before Ohio Courts of Appeals, Kentucky Courts of Appeal and the Kentucky Supreme Court.  He has tried numerous cases in federal and state courts.

He represents many of the largest hospitals in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky in the defense of medical malpractice litigation.  He has tried many malpractice cases in the Greater Cincinnati area.  He serves as an expert witness in bad faith litigation.  He has represented numerous manufacturers in products liability actions, including General Electric, Marathon Oil, Campbell-Hausfeld, Caterpillar Inc. and Bob Sumerel Tire.

Legal Work Highlights

For almost 30 years, Walt has represented major hospitals and physicians in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area in the defense of medical malpractice cases. These include Bethesda Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, University Hospital, St. Luke Hospital, The Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, Alliance Primary Care, Group Health Associates. He has also represented numerous physicians through their insurance carriers, including American Physicians Assurance Corporation and Preferred Professional Insurance Company. He has also represented NLO, Inc. in defending and trying to a verdict a claim involving the death of an individual from exposure to radiation. He has tried actions brought under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act on behalf of Norfolk Southern Railway Company and Cincinnati New Orleans & Texas Pacific Railway Company.
