Ryan focuses his practice on tax, real estate and corporate law. In his tax practice, Ryan works on federal, state, and local tax planning and controversy matters, including tax-free corporate reorganizations and divestitures, development projects under the Qualified Opportunity Zone program, tax audits, appeals, and tax court litigation, and complex tax-deferred real estate exchanges under Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code.
In his real estate practice, Ryan represents property owners, developers, and investors on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, development, and leasing matters. In his corporate practice, Ryan counsels privately-held businesses on issues involving commercial contract drafting and negotiation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, and succession planning.
