About the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD)

LCLD is a national organization made up of the general counsel and managing partners of leading corporations and law firms, working towards the goal of a more open, diverse and inclusive generation of legal professionals in the United States. Founded in 2009, the organization now has 220 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a truly diverse legal profession.

The Fellows program, which has trained more than 600 attorneys since 2011, is an ambitious and highly structured initiative to increase diversity at the leadership levels of the nationโ€™s law firms and corporate legal departments. It allows attorneys to build leadership skills and relationships that enhance their professional development. Over the course of the year-long program, participants are challenged to improve their professional brand, to participate in corporate learning experiences and to sharpen stewardship and leadership skills. ย According to LCLD President Robert J. Grey, Jr., the LCLD Fellows Program offers participants โ€œan extraordinarily rich year of relationship-building, virtual and in-person training, peer-group projects, and extensive contact with LCLDโ€™s top leadership.โ€
