Frost Brown Todd (FBT) has expanded its Intellectual Property (IP) practice with the addition of three IP attorneys: Kevin J. Culligan, Christopher J. Harnett, and John M. Hintz. These strategic hires will expand and complement FBT’s existing capabilities in IP litigation and IP transactions.

Culligan, Harnett, and Hintz have represented clients worldwide, including across the United States, and in Europe, Asia, and Australia. They bring notable strength and experience in the financial services, pharmaceuticals, electronics, computer systems, biotechnology, consumer products, and medical devices industries.
Kevin J. Culligan brings over 44 years of experience in IP litigation, trial, arbitration, and appeal work, with a focus on pharmaceuticals, biosimilars, biotechnology, and financial services technology. Culligan is recognized internationally as a leading practitioner and has extensive experience in patent, trade secret, and trademark licensing, as well as IP strategy and transactions.
Christopher J. Harnett brings over three decades of experience in IP litigation, having successfully litigated cases in more than 35 jurisdictions across the United States. Harnett has a strong background in science and extensive experience in managing patent portfolios, representing clients in inter partes review proceedings, and developing integrated legal and business strategies. He has unique technical knowledge that spans a range of industries including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, computer systems, and consumer products.
John M. Hintz joins FBT with more than 35 years of experience in patent litigation and IP matters. Hintz has litigated in federal courts nationwide and has significant experience in transactional, licensing, and counseling aspects of IP. His clients come from diverse industries such as financial services and telecommunications. Hintz has also served as an expert witness on U.S. patent law and patent licensing in international disputes.
