  • Frost Brown Todd Attorney Elise McQuain Elected Vice President of the West Virginia Women Attorneys Group

Elise McQuain, an associate in Frost Brown Todd’s Charleston office, has been elected to serve a one-year term as vice president of the West Virginia Women Attorneys group.

According to the organization’s website, it’s mission is to “promote the welfare, interests, and professional development of women attorneys,” while advancing “the honor and integrity of the legal profession by advocating principles of fairness and equality.”

McQuain has been active in the West Virginia Women Attorneys group from the start, having taken part in the planning discussions that ultimately led to its establishment in 2017. Since then, she’s helped increase membership and garner the support of area law firms, including Frost Brown Todd, which sponsored the West Virginia Women Attorneys’ Inaugural Conference in June.

In addition to the annual conference, the organization provides several networking and professional development opportunities throughout the year and has developed a strong network of volunteers who mentor female law students and attorneys.

As vice president, McQuain’s primary focus will be on driving up membership numbers and working with her fellow board members to provide greater value to current members and to West Virginia as a whole.

“I’m extremely blessed to be part of such an amazing group with such a vital mission,” McQuain says. “The opportunity to work alongside a group of people dedicated to elevating one another and to address issues unique to women within the legal field has been an invaluable experience. And with the group gaining momentum, I couldn’t be more excited.”

At Frost Brown Todd, which launched its own Women’s Initiative in 2001, McQuain is part of the firm’s litigation team, focusing primarily on product, tort, and insurance litigation. She has significant trial experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving a variety of claims.
